Starts May 30th 2008, Las VegasThe World Series Of Poker needs no introduction to most poker players, so I'll give you a brief introduction ;-) Or rather, a WSOP history, which makes more sense. The WSOP started up in Reno, USA in 1968 and is still to this day the biggest poker tournament in the world, although the World Poker Tour has more recently emerged as a serious challenger in the Texas Hold 'Em arena. The tournament is now held every year in Las vegas and more than 50 winners receive the prestigious WSOP bracelet - one bracelet for the winner of each type of poker game. This is where it differs from the WPT, in that the latter focuses entirely on Texas Hold 'Em, while the WSOP runs on just about every popular poker game going. A number of online poker rooms run feeder tournaments for both the WPT and the WSOP. If you want to receive invites to the WSOP qualifiers for 2008 then sign up to one of the sites below or subscribe to one of our live poker tournament feeds. Those of you heading for the WPT, check out the World Poker Tour Qualifiers page.
